Default Eden Hall

Mind you, I'm not a photographer, I just enjoy the history of our area! Needless to say, here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Not bad photos for someone who's not a photographer. Where is this chapel located?

Eden Hall / Fluehr Park. Just as niel said, it's on Grant Ave. in NE Philly... I'm not sure of the exact "address." Not hard to find though! I a really enjoy that chapel for some strange reason, ever since I was younger... it's a shame it's been further destroyed by some punk kids. I think now the plan is to tear it down but that can't be done just yet due to lack of money.

Eden Park is right at Torresdale Station (R7)

Grant Ave about 2 blocks west of State Road.

Its a shame that FPC or whoever own this property, can't at least tarp the building to prevent further damamge to it's interior.

The structure of this building is still viable, the roof and floor are the problems. Of course, we all know how well the FPC preserves its historic landmarks within the City Parks.

If, and only if, this place was not within the ground of Fairmount Park, I'm quite sure someone would be intrested in to converting this into a private residence. It's been done to many other buildings once used as a place of worship.

if you take the r7 to torresdale, there's a park right behind the station.
get off the platform, at the bottom of the hill and go left. you'll cross a small residential street before you reach the park's entrance.
it's a really nice, quiet park. Walk the trail straight to the back, you'll see the church.

It's fenced off and they have security drive around it at random. Often, I see a cop car just parked outside of it. I managed to get into it once. I got as far as through a doorway...beyond that, there was no floor. The alter stands as an island in the middle of the church, it's really neat. But unreachable.

As I exited to find another entrance to reach the alter, I spotted security walking around the property. So I left as soon as the coast was clear.

nice pics. I wish I had a camera with me for my visit. I'd like to see more.

I grew up on the other side (North) of Eden Hall. I spent many days riding bikes and playing in that park. When I was a kid, not only was the chapel still there, the former St Katherines and other buildings were there as well.
