Default Historic Philly Photos!

Come share my love of Philadelphia and its history. I've taken some awesome historic photos of Philadelphia and made them into wearable art. T-shirts, Long sleeve, Hats, Bags, even baby clothes!

Since I am not making money on this (if anything it's costing me), I do not consider this spam. I truly love Philadelphia and its vast history and want to share the very cool photos I have.

I do, however, find it ironic that someone would complain about spam while putting the logo for his real estate company in his post. Maybe he just wanted an excuse to use the cute little spam icon.

<cough, cough> excuse me, but you just joined this forum, and your first two posts are adds for your website. If it looks like spam, tastes like spam, smells like spam...it is probably spam.

anyway to get back on topic. Here is a pic of my all time favorite building of the past. Broad St. Station. I love Furness' work.

nag--can you make a $25 teeshirt with this on it?

Thanks for that first shot. I have not seen that one yet. Really puts into perspective the area around city hall pre dillworth plaza.

Those pics are great. Anytime you wanna start a thread about a specific building or neighborhood and fill it with pics, i'll be one of the first ones to take a look.

BTW I noticed there was ground level retail along market underneith where the shed was. How far west did that go unit the trackbed turned into a straight up viaduct?

You can see how far back it goes in the semi-arial photo. Looks like it was only a block. BTW...The Station was originally designed by the Wilson Brothers and was dramatically expanded in 1891 (ten years after being built) according to a design by Frank Furness. Credit where credit is due. If you want to see good Frank Furness, go look at the dorms behind The University of the Arts on Broad and Pine St. Or, the UPenn campus.

I prefer the Reading Terminal Head House. The building was designed in 1891, also by the Wilson Brothers Architecture & Engineering firm; its architect was attributed as F. H. Kimbal. And you can still go walk around this one!

Oh yeah...and you can get this one on one of my t-shirts!!!

Your web page is very painful to look at it. I like the content, but every time I click on a link, or even click the back button, I get a prompt asking me if I want to display both secure and non-secure items. This is very annoying and makes me not want to keep looking. Are you aware of this?
