That raises an interesting question. I wondered how far up the concrete structure will go before they start catching up with the rest of the structure. I haven't noticed any major signs of the "framing" going up, but maybe I haven't looked close enough.
How high will the core go before the rest of the building starts to rise out of the ground? |

I've heard through SSP's Philly thread that steel is scheduled to start sometime in March. In several buildings using concrete cores that I've seen construction photos of the core usually outpaces the steel skeleton by about 10 floors and currently the seventh floor is underway with the core rising at the rate of about a floor per week. If that model is correct, this would put steel on site before the end of March.
There is much discussion about Comcast Center and all other highrise projects in Philadelphia in the Philly thread at SkyscraperPage.

If you say it's 1floor/week, then CmcstCtr should be topped out by end of December 2006. Looking at the website from pictures exactly 1 yr ago doesn't seem right. It took that long to reach floor 7?
