Default The Bacon Brothers

WOW! Every time I see them on a show, they're FABULOUS! They were on Craig Kilborn tonight ... again, she says, WOW! They are great. I think they have a new DVD out.

I just can't take Kevon Bacon, seriously. I find it funny that he is pimping arts in Philly now and how great Philly is, when, in interviews, he has repeatedly stated how he couldn't wait to get out of here when he was younger and how awesome New York is. He's such a Masterman dork.

Philly has changed a lot since then, expecially in regards to arts. Bacon played his role well in Mystic River (now playing at the Roxy.)

I can take or leave his acting talents. He was good in Animal House. However, since the "arts" scene is "booming" here now he decides to step up? Sounds like he just wants to pimp his band's cd. Do I sound cynical or what?

Oh come on ... don't a lot of people want to get out of where they're from when they're young? I wanted to see the world, too, and now here I am, in Philly. It has changed a lot, and I'm sure he did, too.

I suppose your right about wanting to get away, but the way the media pimps people from here is just silly. Like M. Night Shaymalalalaalalalalalalalalan. They pimp him as a Philly native and all and love him because he shoots his movies here, but you know what his response is when people ask him why he likes to shoot here? He usually replies with "becuase of the urban decay that is all around". Ridiculousness.

Isn't the most important thing that they are doing something that benefits Philly? That is what is most important. If it benefits them too, good for them!

That's a shame ... I'd not heard that. I just thought it was cheaper to shoot here than most places b/c there are fewer complications.

Yeah he has said that in many an interview. It is kinda sad. However, it is way cheaper to shoot here, which was the driving reason why Kevin Smith shot Jersey Girl here and in Paulsboro (NJ). He has said he could have shot in Toronto but this was better. So that's kinda cool!

Kevin Bacon drops by the University Museum once in a while and seems committed to the city. I might be wrong but that was my impression. Doug Glanville is the same way.
