Other annoying questions when meeting someone for the first time.
What do you like for fun? Where did you see yourself in 5 years Do you want kids? Do you have all your teeth? So is there anything else you would like to know about me? |

I think a lot of people in here are pretty unsure of themselves if this question is causing so many problems... otherwise they could sweep the floor at Wendy's and not give a crap. In fact assuming they are still intelligent, witty, and fun... they could find a place for a little self-deprecating humor and get a laugh out of the asker. (All without feeling shitty about themselves cause they've got the self confidence!).
Anyhow, medical issues are a whole different issue on another level of privacy. If somebody's going to think I'm "gold-diggin" (HA!) or a jerk because I ask what they do, then I know they're terribly insecure about themselves, their job, and a load of other stuff. |

I know you're new here, but depictions of people being plowed in the a$$ belong in the political forum |

Just a common question, whats your name, where ya from, married/kids, what do ya do 40 hours a week?
If it bothers ya just start making up stuff: scientist, rapper, anything you feel that day, people don't usually follow up much after you say. |

I don't know.. these all seem like valid questions as you get to know someone. Perhaps you could suggest some innovative questions that could be asked/answered during the awkward first/second date scene?

"Democrat or Republican?" "Who are you voting/did you vote for?" Or, maybe you could ask questions that would tell you more about the person, about who they ARE as opposed to what they DO. I don't work, but that doesn't mean I don't have a lot to talk about, and I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have anything to discuss beyond their jobs. |

I'd prefer to hear about places he traveled, --does he/she travel? Tell me about the places you've been? Do you have any trips planned? The simple question of "where have you travelled" is surely to spark a lively conversation... unless you are a serious homebody..and haven't been outside of the Phila Metro area.
