I enjoy some of the PBS programming, especially the documentary type stuff about Phila "Things That Aren't There Anymore", etc. When I'm sitting there watching one of these shows, and it's interrupted every few minutes with another pledge segment, it gets aggravating. I would pay them if they would let me get through the program without these annoying solicitations.
I understand that they need funding from the public, blah, blah, blah, but if they would just keep it to inbetween programs, it would make the channel much more viewer friendly. |

the membership drives on philly NPR piss me off.. i understand why they have to do it but on the drive to work there's like 10minutes of news and 50minutes of them trying to get members to join and the phones ringing in the background.

Even the membership drive doesn't annoy me as much as the hip hop. There are some segments that interest me more than others, but how can you go from astronomy, science, psychology, journalism and sometimes philosophy to the newest white girl doing hip hop or ballet hip hop or church hip hop or the latest European rapper? Christ, it makes me sick.
