Default Remember Starstuff? Candy Apple News Co.?

If you grew up in the early 80's in the area then you have to remember the locally produced kids shows "Starstuff" and "Candy Apple News Co."
They were produced by Channel 10 WCAU.

Starstuff was about a kid communicating with a girl from the future thanks to his TV/computer. They would trade quips about life where they were at in the time stream, news reports by Larry Kane featuring the Mummers, and Laurel and Hardy silent shorts.

Candy Apple News Co. was a newspaper/radio station/ tv station (hell I can't remember) where puppets and humans produced a show of some sort. There was a talking radio, a mole living in a window box, and some freaky looking human-ish puppet reporting the news.

Does anyone else remember these shows? I ask co-workers and they don't seem to remember them. They came on early, 6 am, on Saturday mornings. I found http://www.starstuff.net/main.html on the internet but none that feature Candy Apple.

Default Star Stuff and Candy Apple News

Here's an earlier thread on Star Stuff:

I confess to watching both a few times, but only because they were on either before or after Pee Wee's Playhouse. %-)

i used to watch those all the time. i've had a few discussions about it with people, and no one could remember the name of 'starstuff,' so thanks for that.
i think they were on right before 'vegetable soup' and 'courageous cat and minute mouse,' then it was time for 'snorks,' 'gummi bears' and 'smurfs.'

Default Pee Wee

Santa stuffed my stocking this year with the recently released DVD collection of Pee Wee's Playhouse. My kids love it.
