What does this say about us? |

40s through 60s is a pretty wide sample. Sounds like a study carried out to advance a certain theory (the Demi Moore angle makes it timely and therefore more likely to be picked up in major media)...
They did say "unmarried"... so does that mean that formerly married do not count? How about this as a crazy theory - Could something be said for the fact that most MEN in this age category (40 - 60) typically look for younger women... so women in the category may want to date in their age range and find that their male counterparts are not interested- and therefore look to the younger bucks??? I've always liked younger women, but find my life slowly turning into that "Hey 19" tune from Steely Dan with the younger women I encounter as I hit my 30s stride... -G |

"Younger" meaning, what, 20 years, 10 years, 1 year? "Younger" is pretty vague. "Date" as in have a real relationship?
I think most people tend to date +/- 5 years. As I'm still in my 20's...although tomorrow one year closer to 30...I can't say I'd ever date someone in their early 20's. And it's pretty rare for me to date anyone in their late 20's. Let alone when I am in my 40's, unless I wanted a little fun, I s'pose. Fact is that men mature later (or, um, never) and I can't find anyone with responsibility, maturity, and dependability in their 20's... However, has anyone heard Liz Phair's song, "Rock Me"? That song is rockin' and is right in line with Demi Moore's trend. So who knows. |

I don't know why, but I have seen a lot more women with younger men lately. Some a few years younger, some more. Maybe they are looking for fun, maybe they are trying to recapture their youth, maybe it is just for sex.
For the ladies on the blog, are you currently dating or married to a younger or older guy? |

brooke, i think it says 15 years younger. I'd say that finding what you are looking for under 25 will be pretty hard. most get married by 22 that are ready. then the next wave is 26-29. most single guys between 22-28 just want to have fun. maybe more men are marrying for the moeny now instead of vice versa.

Well, all I can say is .... OUCH!
I guess I must be the oldest person here in the Blog. Maybe you should create a 'midlife' or 'senior' section for someone like me... who is no longer wanted by men my age? Geez.... Guess it won't be hard to find me at the blog get-together. I'll be the shriveled up black lady in the wheelchair, with the wrinkles, creaking bones, hearing aid....

Brooke -- NO, thank you! My daughter is 24 -- I have no interest in raising another child!
