Default was there a citizen named Stephen F. Girard???

Just wondering? I do recall seeing the name before, and if so, what important thing did he do for the city?

You're kidding, right?

Don't know what the middle initial was, but Girard was one of Philly's most famous citizens

You do know that to post on this forum you have to be on the Internet which has a wealth of information, right?

Never crossed your mind to type stephen girard into google and read any of the two million some hits and do some research?

this was an attempt to lead a discussion about historical figures in the city's history, but that has obviously failed.

Then you should have stated that. You could have started off with discussing his controversial will.

Girardville, Girard Coal Company, Girard College, Girard Estate, Girard Ave... Stephen Girard statue by the Art Museum...

Probably all influenced by Stephen X Girard
