Default RIP - Officer Charles Cassidy

Officer Cassidy passed away this morning. May he rest in peace.

If anyone comes across information concerning services and arrangements for Ofc. Cassidy, please update.

All: Do not use this thread and hijack it with crap. There are plenty of other threads to debate the violence in our city. This thread is for respect for a fallen officer, and to post information concerning his funeral arrangements, memorials, how to contact his family and related info.

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk

My thoughts are with the family of Officer Cassidy and the police officers who put their lives on the line each day to keep our families safe. I am sorry you don't always get the respect you deserve, but your deeds do not go unnoticed. Thank you.

His family has said to the media that they are very appreciative of the support and hope that people will remember him as "Chuck".
Rest in Peace, Chuck.

If you are in Center City tomorrow morning:

10AM - A Prayer For the City

Local parishioners, well-wishers and others are invited to attend a public service for those officers, living and deceased, at Dilworth Plaza at City Hall.

This will be held tomorrow, November 2nd, at 10AM.

Default If you would like to donate money to the family trust fund

If you would like to send money to Officer Cassidy's family, you can do so by sending a check to the Philadelphia Police & Fire Credit Union or by showing up at:

901 Arch Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107

Default Rest in Peace, brother

As a former Philly officer, I feel the loss that my brothers and sisters of the Philly PD are experiencing now. My heart goes out to all of you, and of course, to the family and friends of P/O Cassidy. May you find comfort in knowing that he's at peace with our Lord.

I pray for strength and endurance for what you're going through, and that the scum bag that killed officer Cassidy is caught soon.

Did they move it? I heard on CBS3 tonight that it was in the Mayor's Reception Room in City Hall. Outdoors would make more sense if they expect a crowd.

I got this on Action 6. Jim Gardner said there will be TV projection setup in Dilworth Plaza (I guess for events going on inside?).
