Without a doubt, absolutely NOT. If this is really the best Philly has to offer, I'm going to take my friend up on his offer of free lodging in his house in Austin, where in the entire week I was there, I saw only one fat women, and very, very few unnattractive women my age.
Plus, I mean, sheesh, look at the places where these people hang out!! Not exactly my idea of fun places - more like a cross-section of pretentious and/or meat market bars and clubs. Plus, those who list Old City just show how moronic people can be: "Well, if it's in Old City, it MUST be pretentious, overpriced, and above all, boring as all hell, except to people like me, who find dancing to gay house as enlightening as finding Jesus in my mashed potatos!"

Jesus in mashed potatoes, I'd say that would be interesting. The Soap is back. Cities that are teeming with attractive and stylish people are trendy, until philly becomes a destination, we wil continue to lose those people to NYC, Austin, San Fran, etc.

Less. Faaaaaaar less. Unless you go for that bottled-tan look, and even then, there's typically too much yeast in the bread, if you know what I mean.
In Orlando, there were more attractive men/women than palm trees, and there's a hell of a lot of palm trees in Orlando. In Austin, as I previously mentioned, there were even more. Heck, even Boston, which I hate with a passion bordering on illegality, has more.

Thank you thank you thank you, Digital Soap. You speak the truth. I keep thinking I have to make weekend trips to DC to find any attractive tall men...and when I look around, the women aren't that much better. You know you live in an ugly city when every visitor I've had has said, "This is NOT a city of pretty people, that's for sure!" To further support this assertion, I recently took a Philly friend to Buffalo (as in home of steel plants and 99% percent of snow in this country) and she was floored by how many attractive 20-30-somethings we saw meandering around a damn mall. It's injustice.
I am constantly in a search for places where I can go for a drink and talk to employed people who don't want to pay $12 for a drink (ie. Denim) and don't find jesus in...fake breasts and tans on 2nd Street in Old City. Basically I think all the people I'm looking to meet don't live in this city. |

How about the suburbs? As someone who as lived in and around the area, I actually think that it all depends upon personal preference and which parts of the city you frequent. I see plenty of attractive people in the city, especially around many of our college campuses.
