Default Girl who raised $700,000 for cancer research dies at 8 yo

http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/condi....ap/index.html

Anyone hear about this girl? GD media focuses on indictments and murders, and I didn't hear about this little girl's plight.

I'll see if I can get in touch with the organization and set up a banner here so people can be aware and donate...anyone else got any ideas?

I lost a friend at 10 years old from cancer...childhood disease always strikes a chord. I'll let you guys / gals know if I can get anywhere with the org.

How could anyone have missed her - or if they did, they should be immediately banned from this site.

She was an awfully brave young girl, who, unlike so many here on these forums, didn't just complain, she actually did something to help.

I'm glad her ordeal is over.

It puts one to shame to see these children struggle yet still never lose sight of their goals, no matter how sick they feel. Just like Matty Stepanak. To think of what they accomplished in their short and difficult , challenging lives is inspiring.

Thanks Mona - another who should be remembered.

Makes me tired to hear people bitch all the time and never lift a hand to do anything to fix stuff. We could learn a whole lot from those two kids.

I made a donation today. To not get choked up after reading her story should tell you something about yourself (i.e. you have no emotions)...

Thanks for posting the link to remind others of her great achievement. Her specific ending as described in the paper was very similar to my Mom's (we got her in a hospice in Newtown and out of Jefferson in center city just 1 day before she passed). She got to know she was back in Newtown just hours before she passed. Death from cancer is a crazy thing...
