hm. i didn't know that advertising a large Philadelphia event was considered spamming..... my apologies to the moderators. i think that it's important that philadelphians who may not read the PW or the CP are clued into the goings on around town, targeted at booting the REAL evil doer out of office.

I don't know why everyone is jumping on poor Amanda K. Listing a Kerry event is not spamming. As long as she lists it once.

And is this board only being for things Philadelphia - who said? That's the sort of rediculous statement that made the trouble before.

This board should be about and for everything. Sure, the major threads concern with life in Philadelphia - but since we, as Philadelphia area residents have concerns ranging all around the globe, we should be able to discuss, argue, etc. If you don't want to read them, then don't read those threads.

I do think we all ought to be a little more careful about wandering astray from the subject of the thread, however. AFter all, FDR really didn't push through the Philadelphia tax abatements or elect Johnny Doc to power.

and my point was that there are two large Concerts For Kerry events in Philadelphia this week........ so that is concerning Philadelphia, right??? so can talk about the Real World being in Philly, but I can't talk about a Kerry event that's in Philly? For what it's worth, I saw Randy from the Real World San Diego on 16th & Locust a few weeks back.

I think the main thing that readers (and Wil, as a moderator) took issue with was the multiple posting. Chris, you've railed against this yourself before.

No, the concert for Kerry is a legit and important thing to advertise, but that's what the Calendar function is for.
