They copied and made one in the NE. It was a little groovy indoor mall, and I got my Joe Cocker red/white/blue sneakers in there, and my hip fringed vest.

You're a tad older than me I think marchi. LOL I only go back to TLA with the Rocky Horror thing, and some punk club I think was on Chestnut Street, and you had to go down into the basement. Frightening place. The Dead Milkman I think I saw there.

Mizzzz know D'Scene. Happening place, and lots of women who had ink on their butts reading "Property Of Mayhem" or something similar. I admired those chicks.

Oh, and the bell bottoms. The girls sewed from the knee up to the crotch to make them even tighter, and gave the bottoms an elephant ear appearance.
Unisex clothes I enjoyed also. Nothing like a dude in a belly top with little pink bunnies on it.

Ok, I wasn't gonna do it, but you guys are forcing me.

Here goes another " Do you remember?"

Do you remember Gulliver's Travels at Glendale and Castor ? A clothing store. It was the first place of it's kind in the area. It was there from around 68 to 72. Next door was Philly's first headshop, called Lilliputians. Blacklights, wavy lights, papers, spoons, hookas(pre-bong), counter-culture literature.
That's where I became "enlightened."

We were in the middle of riots here after MLK got it, so I never got quite mellow enough to find that peace and love thing they all talked about.
I'm sure it was alot different for Burb guys than us inner city guys.
"horse you rode in on"? don't know.

Is there an age limit on PhillyBlog participation? With all the old folks on this thread, I'm afraid the PhillyBlog "powers that be" may pull a Logan's Run on us.

I never did get to see that movie. Now I'll be looking for it so I can be "Hip and Groovy" all at once.

My first glimpse of a mosh, and two guys dressed like twins only like not Doublemint Twins, but GG Allin twins. They were doing mime.

Then in the bathroom. Not the ladies room mind you cause there was guys in there I told some chick she still had the price tag on her shirt. It was still on the plastic under the arm.

Chick flipped out on me, and yelled "It's suppossed to be there ya dumb *&%#ing &*%*$* so shut the f*#* up". Should have sprayed her with my big red can of Spray Net. I was afraid to get drunk in there.
