Default Philadelphia Academy Charter School?

I received a call from PACS informing me that my son was accepted for 1st grade- I don't know whether to be happy or run .

Despite the recent financial scandals plaguing PACS, does anyone have any information regarding the academics of the school? I know that the school is known for accomodating children with special needs but was wondering what the experiences were for children that were average or gifted? Do you think the investigation will ultimately make the school stronger or completely destroy (I know too harsh of a word) the school?

I haven't had much luck with any of the charter lotteries..... so to actually be accepted is kind of exciting.

Our neighborhood school is McCloskey in Mount Airy.....Any feedback on McCloskey would be greatly appreciated as well.
