Default Society Hill Hotel Reopens

Quote:
Christopher Conover, a former bartender at Fork, has reopened Society Hill Restaurant & Bar (Third and Chestnut Streets, 215-923-3711) after a four-month redo. Bistro menu ($13 to $18 for entrees, plus sandwiches) is from Paul Zechman, executed by sous chef David Kane (formerly of Pif). It's open from 11:30 to 1 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
Anyone been yet. Hows the food. Bar was always fine . . . and a great place to sit on a nice spring afternoon along Chestnut Street.

I've been a few times. So far I've had the burger (fantastic), a couple of their salads, an amazing risotto and seafood dish, and something else that I'm not going to name, because I want to be able to have it again. The only different things that I really noticed about the space were that they now have an enclosed food prep area between the bar and the stairs, and the bar is wider.

Haven't been down there since the reopening but I'm going to try and stop in there this week.

btw... that building maybe the most haunted site in Philadelphia. In case you feel like staying over night. Great fun.

We ate there. Loved it. Nice vibe. Mussels were amazing. Some of the best I've had in a long time.

I asked and they'll still have outdoor seating when it's warm.
