Default Moving Day

Hi,

I am about to make the move to Philadelphia, near Washington Park. I'm curious about moving day.

Does one need to get a moving permit?

I'm hesitant to rent a 14' truck (although the 14' truck has a loading ramp) because it might be difficult to park, and it will certainly be an obstruction. Should our backs suffer with a more manageable vehicle?

Any moving advice would be greatly appreciated. We are moving from the burbs..full of wide streets and open space.

You can get a couple of spaces blocked off to park your truck, on the day you're moving. I'm not sure I remember the exact office I called last time I had to do it, but I think it may be the Streets Department's Traffic Division at 215-686-5524. If they're not the people to talk to, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction.
