One of my least favorite memories of childhood was going to a glass blowing tour in Corning, NY...the day trip that never ended. Where your parents know you are all hating being there equally but you drove there and made a day of it and you're all going to suffer together.

Needless to say, I'll miss Hot Soup. I have some killer glasses made by them I picked up in Seand's old store and I always meant to check out the actual store...but couldn't find it.

My husband and I bought the Hot Soup building. We are opening a glass studio and gallery. Although we won't be teaching classes people will be able to walk in and see glass made.

The gallery will be called Hudson Beach Glass. Our main facility is located in Beacon, New York, on the Hudson River. We specialize in cast glass but also carry a line of hand blown barware that will be produced in our Philadelphia studio. We will also sell glass jewelry.

For the record I was born and raised in Philly. My husband is the New Yorker. But he is quickly becoming a convert.

We will be opening in October and are looking forward to meeting all of you.

For those of you who had trouble finding Hot Soup we are located on Strawberry Street which runs between Chestnut and Market. Between 2nd and 3rd. You can reach it from 2nd street, it's across the parking lot from Cafe Spice. We are also on google maps.

If you have any questions or would like to be on our mailing list you can email me at info@hudsonbeachglasspa.com

See you all in October, Emily
