Default Jumpers on the Ben Franklin Bridge today

Twice I was on the bridge today and both times there were people attempting to jump. Actually the second person was not found and might have jumped.

Awfully cold to be jumping in the water this time of year.

Maybe they were Jersey people who just got their houses foreclosed on.

An associate of mine killed himself after watching cloverfield this week. People do the strangest things. He was always a bit depressed, but I never thought he'd kill himself. Don't get me wrong-I was a bit disappointed with the movie, but not that much.

Yeah, but in fairness, I don't think it was cloverfield that did it. He was always the equivalent of Eeyore. Even when he landed his dream job, he barely made a grin. I cannot even remember a single time I've seen him laugh.

His roommate found him hung in the basement this week.

I always wanted to show up people that said "if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you?"

Maybe these two finally did.

...from John Waters movie "Female Trouble"
Taffy speaking to her parents: "I'd sooner jump into a river of snot!"
Divine the mother, replying: Well then go and jump, go kill yourself, see if we care!"
