It's going to take more than this thread to make the word vegan not conjure up stereotypes of non-armpit-hair-challenged Penn activist girls with buck teeth who won't even swallow. (Courtesy of Mayfair meat )

If i had to pick anyone on PB in which to have a 3-way with, it would be towelie and jedi. seriously.

Here is how I understand it:

PAWS is PhillyPAWS is an animal shelter that has the contract from the City of Philadelphia to run an animal shelter (read: our taxes). It used to be known as PACCA (Philadelphia Animal Care and Control) but now PACCA is really just animal control/animal cruelty. www.phillypaws.org

The PSPCA (Pennsylvania Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) also runs shelters - the one in Philly is at 350 Erie Ave.
www.pspca.org

The ASPCA is a national animal welfare organization that also has an adoption center in New York City along with Humane Law Enforcement officers that you can watch on Animal Precinct on Animal Planet. http://www.aspca.org

Sorry to bump up an old post but i was wondering if they are still taking volunteers at this location. I saw the "dogwalkers wanted" post in the volunteer forum but that seemed to only be for their Hunting Park location.

I'm glad you bump an old post!

We are always in need of volunteers, at the PAWS Adoption Center or PAC.

Here are the typical needs:
2-3 volunteers needed at any given time between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays.

6-8 volunteers needed at any given time on Saturday and Sunday

If you PM me your email address, I will get you in touch with the volunteers who coordinate the schedule. To be honest, we are so desperate for volunteers, just show up! They will give you an orientation and put you to work!

Let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for your interest in helping the animals at PAWS!
