sassafras closed/new owners
Did I miss a thread on sassafras closing? What's going on with the new owners? That was my last favorite bar in that area and I guess I didn't go enough.

i don't have all the details but you can rest assured that your old friend Sassafras will still be your old friend. The fellas newly at the helm will take good care of it. (one is a former bartender of the place.)

Darn! Hubby and I were going to go there tonight...it's our favorite place too. I hope the new owners do keep it similar because I need all the "old friends" I can get!

I'm not too familiar with the place, but lately it has looked quite slow. It seems as though the lines from the adjacent businesses almost suffocate it-and the smoking ban definitely seemed to affect this place since I've seen some of the regular patrons over at brownies. I hope it does well, though.

I for one rather like the Sassafras and have often had drinks and light meals there. They serve generally good food and are the only place in town that I know of that consistently serves lamb burgers. They could do a little better on the french fries however ... perhaps hotter oil.

Sassafras is still "under renovation." My boyfriend and I walk by there practically every weekend hoping the "renovations" are over. All the alcohol is still on the bar - and nothing seems changed.
I am starting to lose confidence. Anyone know anything?
