I loved it whe the Fox 29 news crew would hang out there and get ripped. Jill Chernekof was crazy !

I always loved when Tolly would walk in and buy me a beer when I'd merely say hi to him...see him at rotten ralph's once in a blue moon, but not nearly as much as I used to.

guiseppe. I think that was his name- thats how we referred to him..

from the gitgo, and even now, best restaraunt in old city

his 1st place was in what is now "Charlies" (previously Thai). "Artiste Ristorante" i think... nothing matched. not a chair, glass, or piece of silverware. assumed he pulled it from trash bins. a car slid off the then still exposed trolley tracks and slammed into a pole right in front of his place. he got all his staff to pose for a photo in front of the car, smiling with raised glasses of wine.....then ran a full page ad in the local papers with the caption "People are dying to get into my restaraunt"

interesting times back then.

ugh...griffin cafe was the only decent place to eat after hours. No matter where I was in the city, I would end up at the griffin.

soma was the greatest lil' nightclub in all of philadelphia
(bar named sue was cool, but never caught on for some reason)

black banana

sugar mom's movie nights. sugar mom's period before the college crowd found out about it.

when O.C. residents would proclaim that the area was so cool that it DIDN't have a starbucks because "they didn't want it"-heard that one at multiple parties before...hehehe

when myself and the same 3 or 4 people would be the only ones in continental on a weekday-night.

ritz before the emo kids, who make it as loud and messy as united artists riverview.

laughing at the expensive price when my realtor told me that a deteriorated building on market was 160k.

Yeah, that magazine shop. AOCP, Center City Pin-Ups, the Khyber when the name had "pass" in it, parking, Revival, etc.

Funny. Imagine a restaurant without a listed phone number. He had an in-house newsletter in which he once explained that no one should have to pay more than $30 for a good meal.
