Absolutely right . . . well, sort of . . . well, it depends on who you are talking with.

Old Planning Commission: Middle of river to 6th, Spring Garden to North side of Walnut.

Old City Civic Assoc.: We annexed 7th Street in a bloody war with Paul Levy and Chinatown tongs. Actually, was done at request of several organizations along Sixth and 7th. Funny thing, after it was done, the organization ignores that area and it was not included in the Historic District :what_is_:

Old City District: South border is the back of the properties on the south side of Walnut - we needed the money. On north end - it goes to Florist (just south of the bridge). We didn't go any further north since we didn't want to provide services and we would have been attacked by angry landlords up there. Couldn't risk it. On the west, we went to the middle of 6th Street - didn't want to fight Paul Levy on that once since his troops outnumbered us badly . . . and we rented our troops from CCD. On the east, I think we cut it off at Front - since we didn't want our folks sweeping up Delaware Avenue and the piers. We'd never have found them.

Old City Historic District - different again but don't ask me where it stops and where it begins. I think OCCA included everything they could afford to study  .

But yes, Spring Garden works for me.
