I'm considering Plough. What's the deal with Sassafras? Everyone raves about the burgers but do you think they can handle a group that size?
To give you more of a frame of reference.....the last time one of them got married, we all went to Pietro's on 17th and Walnut. For ten people it ended up being $20 a person and that included drinks. Yes, some people shared a pizza but others had salads and pasta dishes. The food was good and the price was right. If we were going on in my hood, I'd probably bring them to the Ten Stone for some upscale pub grub! The whole group is staying at the Omni on 4th, which is why I need suggestions around Olde City. It has to be in walking distance to the hotel! |

Sassafras has an upstairs bar that's open on Friday and Saturday nights--maybe they'll open it up for you on a Thursday if you call far enough ahead.
Plough & Stars can get a somewhat rowdy crowd later at night, but if you're sitting upstairs, I guess you won't see it until you leave. I did not really enjoy the food at Eulogy the one time I ate there--it was overcooked and greasy. I've heard other people say they liked the food, though, so who knows. Society Hill Hotel has awesome upscale pub food! They might be willing to put some tables together for your party--give them a call and talk to Jen.
