I've lived in Bridgeview since December. Its a well maintained building. Staff is excellent. The walls are a little thin, so you can hear the neighbors if they're playing their stereos. Noise infiltration is more horizontal than vertical. You'll hear the next door neighbors, but not the folks above/below.
The windows are double-pane, but poorly insulated for sound and air because of poor caulking. In the winter, its very drafty by the windows. Electric bills for my 1000 sf 2-bedroom ran $200-300 / month in the winter months, and run around $100 - $135 in the summer months. The appliances are basic GE , but very functional. Range hoods don't vent out, they just recycle the kitchen smoke back into the apartments, so you might have to open the windows when you're cooking high-smoke food (like bacon). Same for dryer vents: they just put the humidity back into the apartment, rather than ducted outside. Neighbors are friendly. A couple of times a year, there are building-wide BBQs or wine & food gatherings. All-in-all, a pretty great place to live. Good location. Safe, clean, well kept, good values. Condos that sold for $250-275k this time last year are worth $325-$350k or more now. |

There is a one bedroom (750 ft) that faces the water for rent right now for $1,195. Rents keep going down as people look to buy condos. |

the location (315 new St) is really convenient to Old City and I really like the units I looked at, however I would be concerned with the possibility of noise coming from the bridge. The building sits almost underneath the bridge and the Patco trains are REALLY noisy. I don't know if you can hear it from inside the building but I'd make sure to spend 15 minutes or so inside and wait for a train to pass to be sure. I wasn't inside long enough for a train to pass.

I've spoken to folks who live on the South side of Bridgeview and they say that the bridge noise is not a problem. The train is blocked by the buildings on the South side of New Street, so you can't hear it from inside Bridgeview.
On the North side, if you're on the higher floors (4,5,6) that aren't blocked by the buildings on the other side of Vine Street, you will hear noise from the Vine Street Expressway. |

I live on the 2nd floor in a 2b,2b condo on the North Side (Vine St side). I have lived here for 2 years and have enjoyed it very much. I have found it quiet and friendly.
Alas I am moving down south and will be selling this Apt very soon (privately I hope). If anyone is interested let me know |
