Question New Construction In Bridesburg

Even in this poor market, they are still building in Bridesburg. New townhomes are being built on Bristol street to go with all the other townhomes built in the last few years as well as singles pushing into the 400's. The only other area I still see allot of construction besides the burg has to be Northern libertys, anybody fill me in on any other "big time" construction going on around the city still?

Not far from where I am. Over on Ashton & Willits Rds, there were over 70 single homes built- some still being built. And farther down on Ashton a bit towards Holme, there are a few twins going in.

I am a Bridesburg girl, now a Holme Circle transplant. All of my family is still in the Burg. I hope the growth continues there. I love my old neighborhood

Westrum just built a boat load of houses (The Reserve, The Villas, and The Regency) in the Packer Park section of South Philly and now Sienna Place is going up on the other side of Penrose Avenue.

Default 10 Year tax Abatement

I see new construction throughout the Northeast and as long as they continue to offer the 10 year tax abatement then I think it will continue.
What has taken a big hit as of late is the resale of houses.

They knocked down a single home on the corner of Frankford & Eden to build "Torresdale Pointe" I think they are trying to squeeze 5 homes in that 1 little lot. They are going for $525k each!! Here's a drawing of the home http://www.alwayssellinghomes.com/li..._id=1099610492

Have you noticed there are a lot of Indian or Middle Easterns buying those new homes? I've driven through there a few times to see the houses and it looks like a very diverse subdivision - just curious.
