Default What do you use for weeds?

I'm having a terrible time with weeds in the sidewalk and driveway. I can't seem to kill them!!! What works for you?

I use white vinegar. It is non toxic and relatively cheap. You do have to keep reapplying the vinegar every couple weeks but it is better environmentally then something like bleach.

I use ammonia and reapply it every month. Add a little dishwashing detergent to the liquid so it sticks to the weeds.

I still have to dig out the dead roots.
Roundup lasts a little longer but it is expensive.

20 Mule Team Borax. Told about it by my neighbor who got it from the Horticultural Society. I tried it in my back yard on the weeds I get between the bricks. Everything was dead within a day or 2 and nothing has come back.

I don't remember which thread it was, but I recall someone posting that boiling water works well. Cheap, environmental, and always handy.

1) My hands -- usually on the lawn.
2) Round-Up! -- for stuff I don't want to use with my hands... like weeds on the pavement, patio, etc.
