The Rascal's in Summerdale was on the corner of Loretto and Marcella Street. Very scary area now. My parents would go there after mass on Sat, nights. It has been gone for at least 12 years.. maybe more.All of the places over there are all gone... Bill's Deli, Malloy's, the pharmacy (although I am sure you can still get drugs there) even all the Phil's Shoes...GONE.

They held a grand opening on Monday, June 16, but the facility is not complete.

Safety material for the playground equipment still needs to be installed! The slides go right into a pile of rocks and debris.

Ernest Bock & Sons and the city need to finish our playground!

The children of Rhawnhurst need a SAFE place to play!

Did you see the City Controller's report on the rec centers? Check it out at www.phila.gov and go to the controllers page. There is a new Rec Commissioner and she seems serious about taking rec facitilites serious. She formerly built PAL facilities.

It would be nice if Bock would finish the playground...the city's spent enough money and the community has been agonizingly patient with their sluggish job.
