I was watching the news @ noon yesterday about the missing baby, that the mentally retarded mother handed over to a "friend" who went to the store and didnt come back. Then you have that girls mother on TV telling the world..she is mentally retarded and has 7 kids and 6 are with DHS.and they let her keep this one because her grandmother was helping her....Dont you think that as a mother..when she had her 1st baby knowing she was unfit... kinda like make sure she didnt have any more! Am I the only one that is like baffled by this whole story!..You think you heard it all..and it gets worse!Sad situation.

I assume that the only reason they let her keep the baby was because she was only 2 months old. Mother-child bond is crucial for newborn development (if any at this point). As a new mom...stuff like this makes me furious. I've said it before and I'll say is again-IF WE NEED A DRIVER'S LICENSE TO DRIVE, WE SHOULD NEED A LICENSE TO HAVE CHILDREN.PERIOD.

I saw the baby's mother on tv. She didn't seem to be mentally retarded. However, her story about just handing her baby to a "friend" just didn't sound right...so I guess she wasn't in her right mind? Who knows?
Of the 7 kids, I wonder how many fathers there are?
