We will be creating a subset - Action Committee
This is for TYPE A people, we have areas of the neighborhood that have some CRIME. We are going to take those areas BACK, with the help of the 15th Police District.
This will be on as needed basis.

Yes, recently a real estate manager referred to me as a one woman recking ball, but unfortunetly for her she does not know that I have a rather large committee, maybe I should have them all give her a shout.

Sounds like a bunch of busybodies, that need something to occupy their time.

Who died and put your "Quality of Life Committee" in charge of ANYTHING?

Typical case of an overinflated ego, if you ask me.

These self-ordained "committees" can become troublesome over the long term, because they soon start thinking that they have authority over other citizens, despite the fact that no one elected them to any office, and that they answer to no one.

Unfortunately, such control-types are in every neighborhood, and the neighbors need to be on-guard that they don't get out of control. Filing a lawsuit for "tortious interference" usually puts them back into their place.

We don't require another layer of bosses over our lives--especially bosses that try to assume control on their own.

Yes, folks seeking civility and reduction of crime in their neighborhoods are so troublesome. It's so much better for everyone to just shut up and quietly endure the thugs, vandals and assorted maniacal ne'er do wells who would force their worthless lifestyles upon us.

Cato, can you please stop drinking the haterade, when no one cares about a neighborhood things go down. The Tacony Civic has been around since 1982, all volunteer, when work with many city agencies to assist residents with major problems. We also hold many neighborhood events like the Summer Concerts, Flea Market, Car show, our only mission is to keep Tacony a nice place to live, if you think the city is able to promote our neighborhood on its own then I am afraid we will be North Philly in a few more years.

As far as the personal attack, I am a very humble person, and do not wish any ill will for anyone. I volunteer and voice out with my committee, I understand where you are coming from with the busy bodies, PTA type, but I assure you that we only do what is best for the community and use other successful neighbors as our model. I realise that Rental housing is a VERY PROFITABLE BIZ, so there are many Landlords that do not like me very much, but I can assure you if they were doing what they were supposed to they would never have a problem with me. Any Landlord that wants to sue a volunteer community organization that has a strong reputation can go ahead, what comes around goes around and we all have lawyers and can always find a way to sue someone. KARMA. I can also say that when the city enforces the Agent clause many landlord with 150AGI will LOOSE ALL OF THE RENTAL LOSS DEDUCTIONS, BOO HOO I am cryin for them. And it will not be SO PROFITABLE FOR THEM ANYMORE.

I just call CLIP on people in my neighborhood who don't want to live like civilized human beings. I love when they get fined! Straightens them out EVERY time. Yes, it makes me feel powerful having the ability to control how some dirtbag wants to live. LOL!

NO ONE should have any "problem" with YOU, as you were elected by no one and have no special authority over ANYONE. Your agenda is regulated by NO ONE, you are accountable to NO ONE and you don't have to worry about running for reelection for public office. Yet you boast that YOU can determine "what they [landlords] are supposed to do . . . " Who appointed YOU czar of Tacony?

Rentals are a fact of life, and landlords have restrictions on who they may reject. The mere fact that you live in your own home, rather than rent it to another (or be a tenant in a home owned by another) does not make you and your "Quality of Life Committee" any better than anyone else, regardless of whether you put on the mantle of authority of the Tacony Civic Association.

Did I read in another post that you own a tavern? As a group, taverns represent the biggest headaches for neighboring residents. I wonder what stories the abutting neighbors would tell about YOUR business? Drunks urinating on neighbors' lawns? Fighting on the sidewalk at 2 in the morning? Parking spaces always taken by your customers, rather than the local residents? Noisy deliveries of alcoholic beverages at various times of day? Neon signs shining in bedroom windows of abutting residences all night? I wonder . . .

Cammy, I'd be really surprised if this ******* Cato even lives in Tacony.
