How is anything she is doing poisonous to morale of the community? Did you mean to say " Your campaign is poisonous to the morale of the renters and their dead beat landlords." or would you rather live in the slums. I think I will side on her side not yours. And trust me I have been hit by CLIP and they were right and next time I go away I will have my lawn cut by someone. It's people like you that I would see throwing a wrapper out their car window without a care for the people that live on that block. Climb back in that trash can you live in and close the lid.

Default Get real

I volunteer 25 hours sometimes more to my community with NO PAY NO PERKS AND sometimes a thank you, the best reward is when I have helped someone who has been held hostage by thier neighbors who intimidate and threathen them when they ask to please keep the noise down or when they had their home infested with ROACHES and no one would help, I had a family evicted in 1 hour after the family next door had to literally move out and stay with another neighbor bc of the roaches, they LOST EVERYTHING THEY OWN, the hug and the tears are all the payment I need to know I am doing the right thing.

Sorry CATO, you have me all wrong I love my neighborhood and love the people who live here and take care of their property, if you are ignorant you have no place in Northeast Philly.

It became part of the culture for people to snitch one upon the other--and soon people were actually LOOKING for new reasons to denounce one another.
Then I guess those far out suburban developments are run by Nazis. There are suburban developments where it's illegal to put a statue of the Blessed Mother on your lawn (this was fought and overturned by the Catholic League). These same suburban developments have the power to tell you what flags you can hang outside your house or when it is time to renovate your deck/porch unless you want to pay a fine. My point is there are much stricter communities out there than Tacony. I disagree with Cato completely and quite frankly I find it hard to believe that Cato doesn't know Cammycap personally and has a personal agenda against her. Cammycap, I hope this thread only gives you more fuel to fight absentee landlords and help further improve quality of life in Tacony.

Default It's easy

I don't understand this whole argument. Keep you grass shorter then a foot tall. Pick up the trash that blows onto your lawn. Be respectful of your neighbors. It's not like Cammy is asking for a lot. It's called common courtesy.

So if your grass is over a foot tall or you have trash all over your property, I'll be calling CLIP also. It brings down the value of my home and is also a health risk being a breeding ground for mosquitoes and who knows what else.

The reason Cammy does this is because people, especially seniors, are afraid to call. So they call Cammy and she gets in touch with the proper channels. And she does this as a volunteer.

I'd be surprised if even two percent of Tacony's households have anything to do with that group.
You'd be surprised how many residents are members of the Tacony Civic Assoc. Maybe Chrissy can give us an exact number. The huge attendance at ordinary civic meetings is why I choose to live in Tacony. The Civic Association does speak for the neighborhood. Come to a meeting and see for yourself.

Default Meeting

Based on all the activity on this tread, I hope I have a good turn out for my committee meeting I really want to get the team running full speed.

Also because we might have some others crash everyone should please bring ID with a TACONY RESIDENCE ADDRESS ON IT, don't want any Out of area Landllords showing up.

Again, you must be a member of the civic $5 to join and then you can sign up for the committee, if you just have an issue you would like help on come on by and we have forms you can fill out.

Why not let the landlords come? Like Scoats said to Cato, "come and see for yourself".

Default June 24th

Well I gave CATO the Civic line and we can certainly set up a time to give a tour anyone who wants to for that matter may, I gave the NE times a drive along as well as their photographer.

My committee meeeting is for us the people who live here and wake up in Tacony everyday, to address the issues Brainstorm, PLAN, and implement. We have several crushing issues we need to get working on right away.
