Did you leave a tip? Ever since most DD's started that practice I pretty much stopped giving them my biz. Every now and then I would hit the one at Cottman and Torresdale a couple years ago and they instituted a practice of NOT giving you the pennies that were due back to you with your change, I never had so much fun creating a "scene" in a place.
Hate the coffee there anyway and usually would only go for the muffins or munchkins if they were needed for a school party etc, and I can always grab their muffins at WaWa anyway instead of dealing with one of their non-english speaking "stupid" employees. BTW, where is Dungee and Rhawn? ![]()

No I never left a tip. If the Indians/Pakistanis working there aren't making enough money, it should be up them to demand higher wages. It shouldn't be left to the customer to support the employer's decision to short change the employee.
Sorry, not Dungee. I was thinking about our "great" new School Reform Commission member. It's Dungan street. Their coffee isn't too bad in my opinion.

Coincidentially enough, the one closest to me on Holme circle is the one I go to the least. I always laugh when I go in and there's a full crew of Indians or Paks and they all have nametags w/American names. "Mike", "Nick", "Mary", etc. Regardless, if there's a reason to stop going there it should be that Rachel Ray is the new face of their advertising campaign. Can't stand her! Full disclosure: I have several of her orange cooking items in my kitchen. Pots, pans, garbage bowls, etc. Not by choice, of course. [/rant] Last edited by teamcinnamon : 05-16-2008 at 11:06 AM. |

I am a Dunkin coffee lover and even buy the beans for home. But you definitley have to pick and choose the franchises you give your business to. I agree with Cerb that Frankford and Shellmire is a good location, clean and good service. So is Frankford and Unruh and the Roosevelt Mall spot. I think Torresdale and Cottman is terrible as is Bustleton near Pep Boys and Red Lion and the Blvd. Do a little research and you'll see a common theme among who is operating the nasty ones. I think the tip cup is a little cheesy, sometimes I throw my change in, but usually not...

The one near me on Front Street (Mostly Americans) has the pretty bad service. I only get iced lattes (I think their coffee sucks) how hard is it to remember large iced latte with sugar? And I wasn't even in the driver thru! |
