Default Daycare/playclasses question

Hi everyone,
Sorry to post another daycare question but I did go thro the old threads and dint find what I wanted.
My question is about daycare specifically play classes for my 19 month old son.
I am looking in the area around the torresdale station..I googled and saw a couple of them.
All Saints Day school and Alpha house nursery are the ones closest to my place but I wouldn't mind going a lil further if its accessible by bus and has a good reputation.
What do u think abt the places I mentioned above..anyone have kids or know kids at those places?
My son is extremely active and though his grandparents babysit him, I want him to interact with other kids at least for a few hours a week and therefore am looking for some play classes. Eventually I will put him in daycare but thats prbly in a year's time.
Any good suggestions??
Thanks in advance!

I can't speak from experience, but I have heard the YMCA on Knights road also has a very big and active daycare program.

Tha Alpha House is a preschool and kindergarten program, and only accepts children who are 3 by Sept 1...my son is 3 and he is 3rd on the wait list there for the part time preschool.

All Saints day school also is a preschool that accepts children 3 & up.

I am the mom of an 18 month old and a 3 year old. I looked around at daycares before, and there were a couple that looked good.

as far as playgroups, I do not know of any that are year round and/or drop off situations, They are usually a mommy n me type thing. If anyone knows of any that are year round, I would be interested in hearing about them myself!

As far as daycares go, most have p/t programs if you want your son to plit time there and w/ his current babysitters. As the pp noted, the Y has a good one. Just Children on Grant Ave. accpets toddlers. I worked there 10 years ago, and when I checked it out 2 years ago, it still looked like a nice center. I also have heard good things about a daycare at a Jewish center, but the name is escaping me at the moment... I will post it if it comes to me.

GL to you in your search...I know how hard it is to find quality daycare. I wound up sending my son to a home daycare program that was wonderful, but she is currently at capacity or else I would send you there.
