I don't live in the NE, GOP. I grew up there. I have plenty of family and friends up there. Every time I go up there, it looks almost like a suburb in the city. Before you berate that comment, I know the lower NE, like Oxford Circle/Wissinoming has changed a lot and other areas have their problems. I'm aware of the crime up there. Sooner or later the NE was bound to realize that they're part of a big city and with that comes some crime. That doesn't mean you don't do everything you can to stop it. But it also doesn't mean the whole NE is in a state of war. You take the good with the bad. If I were you I'd look on the bright side a little more often. By being pessimistic, which I think this article is as well, your only hurting your own property value and others' perception of your area.
