My sentiments exactly.

Talking about me?

I drank more in the 5 years I was in the Marines then most people drink their entire lifetime...even college kids. The lightweight alcohol they serve here is nothing compared to overseas.

I dont see the need to get shitfaced anymore...hell I dont even smoke.

If people want to drink thats fine.....If people want to drink, get in a car and wreck infront of my house....well thats another story:

Yes you read that correctly...1:10am.....the bar is two blocks up. Nothing like waking up to find this right outside your house.

Oh and the SUV in the foreground....thats mine with the car under the front bumper.

Actually I think it’s a good idea. Not saying that the same old corner bars should be added, but I think it would be good to see some more respectable bars/eateries.....seem to have worked for areas like Manayunk, Northern Liberties, and even East Passyunk. All three of these areas have seen their areas change for the better as the night life became better. I believe there is a correlation between the two.

We only have one bar like that in the Mayfair area and that's the Grey Lodge. It’s consistently getting good reviews and is apparently making money with out the $1 bottle drunk specials. The area needs more bars like that to draw in a different crowd. This would help the area to be recognized as a place to be.

A 3 block strip of a specific attraction? That's not such a bad idea, IMO.

Maybe (for example) from Sheffield south to Cottman could be the "older crowd" establishments: nicer bars, decent restaurants (like Rylie).. mix in a few nice shoppes, stores.

Then from, say, Tyson South, you could have your "younger crowd" establishments.

But the trick to anything along the Ave. is the parking.

Where are all these people going to park?

You can't attract people like this and not offer them a safe place to put their car. And the neighbors don't want the parking hassel on their streets.

Where are all these patrons going to park?

Please stop mentioning the Grey Lodge… It’s the only great bar in the area. I would hate for that to get ruined by huge crowds of jerks you may find at some of the other bars on the ave.

I do think it would be great if Frankford ave could be turned into a little bit of a tourist attraction..tourists don't go looking for Nail Salons and crappy Chineese food.
