So what have we learned so far

It looks like inviting folks who live either at or below the poverty line black OR white = nothing but trouble. If that's the case, how do we stop the growing list of section 8 homes in our neighborhood, and how do we get rid of the ones that are already in place? I think we ALL agree that NOBODY wants a section 8 home on their block

Agreed?

Ideas?

Hey I have nothing against giving people a chance regardless of their economic situation....buts its hard to let them move in and hope they wont turn out to be a cancer on the community. Same can be said with virtually anyone....Section 8 or not.....but they are the ones prone to being a bain on the area so thats why I am leery on letting Sec 8 move in.

The house next to me is for sale and I know the sellers.....thankfully they are not going to sub it out or rent it.....its also FSBO so they have a little bit more control on who buys it over using a realtor.

I have always been disturbed by the lack of rules for the tenants of Section 8 homes and projects. These homes are government funded- why are there no rules for these people to follow in order to live in them?
I believe if you get a home for practically free, if not entirely free you should be almost at the mercy of the person/agency giving it to you.
Have rules/regulations regarding:
The appearance of the home- If it’s unkempt, you get a strike, if you get complaints to the police department, you get a strike. All these strikes can add up and once they do- you get kicked out.
Same goes for welfare- It kills me when I see nicer cars than mine parked at the projects.

I really could go on and on- Does anything like this already exist?

I heard a commercial on the radio last night as I was listening to the Flyers. It said that section 8 homes are being re-named to some fluff name that I can't remember and that the homes will no longer be available to convicted felons and that the rules are going to be stricter and blah blah blah ... it just made me sick. What I want to know is how we can be rid of them altogether, I don't think ANYONE in Mayfair wants one on their block.

Why werent the rules stricter before?

ANYONE who thinks this is a RACE issue is a friggin idiot. It's most definitely not. It's just EASY for the damaged and simple-minded individual to wave the statistics and propagate something deep-seated and personal into something that's just plain EVIL, and has NO place in society.

If I see any poster like this, I am bringing it down immediately. It just embarrassing.

I advise everyone else to do the same.

Oh so its ok to help them is owning a home....but if they dont want to be self-sufficient in the long run....thats ok....we will just keep footing the bill.

Thats a bunch of crap.

Oh and as far as the military goes....they are desperate with the so called war going on....they will take anyone. Back when I tried to enlist I was denied because of my so called allergies......you believe that? ALLERGIES!

Well I fought it tooth and nail and had the decision overturned....I had to endure a full battery of tests....you know the kind where they needle the crap out of your back and arms....I wanted to be a Marine and earned that right.
