Default MARC Clean Up - What About Lincoln's Playground

Great job to all who participated in the neighborhood clean up. I joined up with MARC at Torresdale and Cottman.

Does MARC ever visit Lincoln's Playground or again is it the School District's property and their problem? When was the last time someone went and checked out the equipment and the surface there? We are also part of Mayfair, at little past Rowland and Ryan Avenues.

Let’s make some noise for the children at Lincoln's Playground! Our children need a safe place to play at too.

One thing you may want to do is hand out flyers at the playground and to parents in the neighborhood, there is power in numbers, but it is better to aim for the group you need Parents of young kids!

Maybe at one of the concerts in the park they would let you sell 50/50 tickets. Or maybe have a table with pictures of the playground and asking people to contribute?

MARC is responsible for the installation of the flags/markers around Pennypack in the Lincoln area. The school district prop issues could be the problem creating all the red tape for what might be a simple solution. Someone from MARC posts on here occaisonally, not sure if a PM to them would get you an answer or not but it might be worth a try.

I contacted the School District's Risk Management Dept and Legal Department on behalf of the Mayfair Civic Assn and am awaiting a response. I forwarded pictures taken of the area as well as complaints. The Director of RMstated that he will have to take a trip out there. That is the last I heard. If and when I hear anything else, I will let you know.

Default Lincoln Playground

MARC is looking into the problem. It is School District property, so we can't simply go into the playground and repair the equipment.

We are reaching out to the School District, the city and our local elected officials. We have made them aware and are waiting to find out what can be done.

I'll post further information when I receive it.

Yes, thanks to those who have researched this issue. Hopefully the school district will accept the assistance and this can be improved for the little ones in the area.

Default Finding a safe place for the kids

Has anyone tried calling Action News Call for Action? I wondering if they could help with getting the playground fixed? What about our community newspapers NE Times and the News Gleanor?

Default Playground at Lincoln needs major attention - Please help!

Well it has been a month since we have contact Joan's office and again we walked to Lincoln's playground (Mayfair Memorial Park) and there is no difference for our children. What a statement this is to our future, our children!

No response from Mayor Nutter, Joan Krajewski, John Perzel, School District and the Department of Rec.

What do we have to do to have someone hear our asking for help? Feel free to contact Joan Krajewski and ask to have this playground repaired.
