Default How you can help the toddlers at Lincoln's Playground?

We need to contact Councilwoman JoanKrajewski's Office at (215) 686-3444.

We have made our complaints and need some other concerned individuals to do the same. The repairs need to be done before someone seriously gets hurt there.

Here is what you can tell them: the padding needs repairing; the equipment is missing screws and are cracked in some places.

To date, we have been told that they have forwarded our complaint it to the School District, but no one seems to be taking the initiative to get it repair for our children.

We have additionally sent pictures of the problems via email and have not heard a reply, with the exception that they forwarded it to their legal department at the School District and Risk Management.

We apperciate your calls to her office.

I'm not sure how good Joan is with getting stuff done but you might want to try Mike McGeehan and his staff first. The are amazing at getting stuff done or at least being able to give you answers and point you in the right direction if they can't. Especially the recptionist Jackie. She is the best.

Default Lincoln's Tot Lot - Action Needed

Yes, we have tried Mike McGeehan's Office, John Perzel's Office and Jack Kelly's Office. We additionally contact Department of Rec and followed up with the School District's Legal and Risk Management Offices. No reponse on what they are going to do.

The only problem I see is if you make alot of complaints they will just raize the thing with the new school coming....maybe interested parties which would be parents with small children in the neighborhood, should make a plan to help find the funds or grants to make it a great place! I know nothing about any of that but I am more than happy to help with clean ups.

Default Lincoln Playground

Talk about Lincoln, you should see Vogt. 1 swing? I called Joan Krajewski's office several times, Chris at her office said we should get new equipment by the spring. Nothing yet. He also said we would get some signs to pick up after your dog and some baggies for dog poop. He has not done one thing. He said they would not repair the swings anymore. I bet the playgrounds in North and West Philly are the best. Ours are just deteriorating.

But they arent just deteriorating they are being destroyed....by our teens/kids. I took my kids to Vogt when they were tots for the pool...I ended up joining a swim club because not only were the conditions filthy at Vogt, but the teens haning out there were as well...the same at Linden, and Mitchell playgrounds!

I whole heartedly agree with you Mayfairchick. Two years ago I was attending a childrens' party at a neighbors by Mayfair Elementary. I wound up walking my new born around the playground at Princeton and Battersby in her stroller so she could nap. There was a group of teens who were much too old for the playground hanging out there. Some of them were throwing the swings around the top cross bar trying to break the seats. Others in this group were busy defacing the plastic slides with markers. It's a shame because those kids probably had the chance to enjoy that playground when they were younger. It was really nice to see how they reflect their upbringing. It was even better when their parents called them home from across the street for dinner.

I've taken my toddler to the Fox Chase Rec and it's just fine. Some older kids, but I never had a problem.

Default A Response to Lincoln's Playground - Keep the calls coming!

Joan's office emailed said they were in contact with the School District and the Department of Rec. This playground is on School District property and their responsibility. This is the best; they do not have the RESOURCES to have their playground repaired. Joan's office is trying to work with the Department of Rec. to see if they can help out.

Please continue to make phone calls and let JoanKrajewski know that WE CARE about our little ones and need a safe place for them to play at. Let’s have our tax dollars used in OUR NEIGHBORHOOD for a change.

(215) 686-3444 Joan Krajewski

We will await a reply from them.
