Maybe if she should sue.... she could use the money to replace the playground at a different location.

I am just being facetious but really, there are far worse conditions in the city schools than this playground...there is more to this story...that we dont know I bet.

Default Lincoln Playground (Tot Lot) Meeting

Several individuals have been meeting to start the process in replacing the Playground at Lincoln.

I have been asked to let interested individuals know that our next meeting for the Tot Lot will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at the 7:00 p.m. at the Perzel Center.

We will need many individuals to help in fundraising to replace this facility.

I'll see if I can re-work my schedule to make it. Thanks for the heads up.

Who asked you to let interrested individuals know?

Default Lincoln’s Playground Meeting Notes from July 15, 2008

Lincoln’s Playground Meeting Notes from July 15, 2008

A portion of the playground will be made to be accessible and designed for disabled children.

Fundraising Ideas:
  • Sell Bricks to line the walkway into the playground – each family interested in purchasing a brick and will be able to have an inscription of a line or two. $100
  • Brass plaques to be placed strategically on a tree or equipment. $5,000
  • A Business or a Cause wanting to have a section of the playground named for himself or herself. $$$ Depends on the donation
  • Any donation will be accepted
  • A 501c3 will be obtained to allow the contributions to be tax deductible, something like "Friends of Mayfair Memorial Park".

A phone number should be made available for interested parties.

An email and/or web site should also be made available for interested individuals.

Schedule a clean up day to make families aware of our efforts to replace the playground and have posters made up to place in business regarding fundraising.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, July 29th @ 7:00 p.m. We will meet at the Perzel Center in the upstairs meeting room (St. Vincent’s & Battersby Streets) and then travel to Lincoln’s Playground to see a visual of what we are going to do.

Please invite others to be involved.

Was anything discussed as far as the layout of the playground or what it's estimated to cost?

Were they able to sell off the equiptment that was there prior? It still looked good to me.

3300 Mayfair, I'm not sure what the School District did with the equipment that was on the property before. I know I saw it in dumpsters, but after that, I cannot tell you.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, July 29th @ 7:00 p.m. We will meet at the Perzel Center in the upstairs meeting room (St. Vincent’s & Battersby Streets) and then travel to Lincoln’s Playground to see a visual of what we are going to do.

All are welcome to attend and please invite others to be involved.

Unfortunately I already have work scheduled for next tuesday night so I can't make it. I am however VERY interrested in seeing this project. Is there any way that that can be done that you know of?

I'll be back in the neighborhood at around 9:30 or so, so if you guy's could WALK on over to the playground from the Perzel center after a hour or so meeting perhaps I could pick it up there?
