Look most of you spend much of your time monitoring what your neighbors are doing anyway judging by how much of that stuff is posted here in this thread. Put it to good use. Who knows it may cut down on you people boring the bejesus out of the rest of us.

Ugh, on the contrary. I think whenever I post that several of y'all out there in blogoland think I'm trying to discredit you or automatically take some contrite view. While I may do that all the time to some posters, I've never done that to you. So stop taking offense when there isn't any to be taken.

I was wondering why you were going into this effort to anonymously report drug activity when I thought there was already a vehicle to do that (the narcomp form) and the RC form.

I did read through it all--you're also asking for other nefarious goings-on like prop crimes.

I'm not discrediting you at all. In fact, what prompted me to ask was if some of you in the NE precincts who have found Phillyblog and all the ranting threads in the NE forum wanted to channel that information directly within PPD in order to act faster before bad stuff hits the fan.

You should'a have been here before the shootings at WOW. We had several people here griping about WOW and what was happening outside during their all night parties... even before shots rang out. It's nice to know that at least there is an ear listening online to some of the residents concerns in an area that's about 1/3 of the entire city.

I'm happy that L&O is collecting info. I did want some sort of indication as to whether or not the NARCOMP form was a waste of time, after reading his initial effort post [I thought those forms got read and dealt with].

What I didn't want to hear was L&O come back and say, "well, we get to those when we can... eventually, but they sit around in an inbox somewhere until someone manages to print them out."

That would have got me rather ticked off.

Erm, unlike TheFuzz, L&O appeared without giving out his full name, what precinct and a phone number [which Fuzz does, repeatedly].

Wouldn't you be a tad bit suspicious/skeptical at the initial offer? I did notice that HGirl vetted him out to be a legitimate PPDO so I didn't question it.

What I was concerned about was ppdonline, and the PPD's effort to electronically collect complaint forms and whether or not the PPD actually treats each form with proper "customer service" that the taxpaying public deserves.

If the NARCOMP form is going to an electronic File #13 or there's a big delay in getting the complaint to the precinct that needs to deal with it... I'd demand an answer as to why.

You do realize, if you look at the electronic form, that some of the information can potentially be rather perilous to collect, especially in some well-known blocks in this city where ALL the houses are crack houses with dealers running in and out. Stop for a second to stare at an auto-tag, and well... you could be a rather unwelcome guest to the hood.

Back when those druggie-thugs moved in up the street (Jan 2006), I was getting tag numbers (thank god for binoculars) off the cars pulling up at their place.. funny thing, they almost ALLways had tags with "dealer" on them.... what's THAT about?
No worries, after they moved in, two weeks later, DEA came knocking on their door at 6am... guys with walkie-talkies all over the street!... I loved it!.. bust the bums!.... we don't need that crap on our street here..

Bottom line is, we neighbors outnumbered the bad guys, and we wanna KEEP it that way.. it's the only way to keep the trash from stinking up the place..

Here you go. Now you know what to ask your wife/husband to get you for your b'day!

You can take a photo of anything in "plain view" (such as tags on a public street for sure and who jumps in and out of the car doing their drive in buy). Don't use them to stalk the trash, just id them.

this is an open invitation to anyone. your identity would be 100% confidential/guarded- thats a promise.

heres an opportunity to drop a dime on the gun toter, gun runner, drug dealer, burglar or robber that youd like to see behind bars.

many, many people have information regarding crimes here in the northeast but fear retailiation, retribution or the stigma of being labeled a 'snitch'. perhaps youd like to get something off of your chest, clear your mind or just help the police out.

if youre browsing the northeast forum, chances are you actually CARE about the northeast- as do i.
+1 to L&O.

Anybody concerned about giving crime tips over an anonymous blog as some posters have suggested, don't forget that there is almost no way to ID the tipster. If you want the cops to try to do something about your own private slice of local garbage, you have to start snitchin.

From what I can figure, reporting drug houses to the cops on a blog is just about the safest way to get the info directly to the cops actually working your area without worry that criminals can find out who you are.

L&O whoever you are, keep up the good work and stay safe.

cerberus413. I'll have to pass on your offer. Your a little to lowbrow for my taste.
