L&O, not to dillute your efforts, but...

http://www.ppdonline.org/rpts/rpts_narcotics_frm.php

What about the anonymous NARCOMP form? [All the police will have is your IP address... but you could use a proxy like browseatwork.com if you're really paranoid about the police finding out who you are...]

From what I understand, those complaints go directly to the detectives who work narc. Do you know what happens with these reports (and could shed some light on facts/myths about ppdonline?)

if you see recurring similar instances, gather some information and PM me. ill be sure to disseminate it to the street cops-- most likely local narcotics guys.

but- to make it work, i would need specifics--- times, descriptions, cars descriptions, tag numbers, addresses..... anything you can provide, itll go to the appropriate people.
Well, whatever it was, it was easily hidden in the kid's palm...
I was just kinda shocked to see a kid so young probably involved in drugs on my street. Of course I keep my eyes open to anything "odd" around here, this is my neighborhood, my home, and I ain't-a gonna let it turn into some filthy wasteland, neither are my neighbors.
It's bad enough the 'hood I grew up in (Bridge & Jackson) turned into a slop-hole with thugs ruining the value there... that's so sad, cause when I was a kid, I could walk the streets there at 4am without fear. NOW?... you couldn't PAY me to DRIVE though there! (I'd prob get a flat tire running over empty "40s")

Ask most of the people going in and out of Phila jails in a multiple choice quiz what their worst fear about crime and punishment is.

If you put c) being sent upstate to serve your time, I bet you'll get the most responses.

If the thugs in Phila are so concerned about stepping on the City's last nerve and getting tossed into an upstate pen... then maybe that form of punishment should be expanded and explored, no?

If Rendell and Company wants to raise my state taxes, I wouldn't mind it at all in exchange for a super-duper big facility somewhere outside of Erie that's ready to receive overflow from the city jails and weapons violators---someplace nice and cold where going out in the prison yard in February means stepping out into Artic tundra--and nobody wants to come visit you cuz you're in the opposite corner of the state.

That would help lower our crime rate, guarantisada.

Now that's something I didn't know. But it also jibes with an article I read in The Atlantic titled "The Story of a Snitch" or something like that.

The article concerned a petty criminal in Baltimore who decided to cooperate with the cops to put someone else away and the (ultimately unsuccessful) efforts the police made to keep him from getting iced for his trouble.

One of the points the article made was that many informants were reluctant to enter the local version of the Witness Protection Program because doing so would require them to relocate to a different part of the city. These beat-up neighborhoods were their entire world, and even taking a crosstown bus would uproot it completely.

So this would definitely work. And given that these days, small towns all over the country, including a bunch in this state, actively lobby to have prisons built because of the jobs they provide, I think you could probably arrange something here.

But why stop at the borders of this state? We may not be able to create a modern version of Australia any more, but we could come up with something like an interstate compact in which states agree to house each other's most troublesome repeat offenders. The folks causing too much pain in Chicago, say, could find themselves in Shippensburg, while our big troublemakers would cool their heels outside Cairo.

As for the general thrust of this thread: Philadelphians' capacity for turning positives into negatives never ceases to amaze me. Here's a guy doing the essence of community policing -- reaching out to establish direct ties to the people he protects, even if those ties are anonymous -- and the first response he gets is, "Is this some sort of scam?"

the link that eastchestnut provided was a narcotics form. while divisional detectives dont investigate narcoitcs activity (thats why there are district level narc officers and then city-wide narc officers), i would be more than happy to pass any info along to friends who could try to work with it.

but, posting your link seemed like a futile attempt to discredit my effort.

im not looking for narcotics information specifically (however, it is welcome). if you read through the thread, youll understand what im trying to accomplish.

East, .

You applaud TheFuzz' activities here, I expect the same for L&O.

Law and Order...
I stumbled across this blog last year while searching on line for a way to break up a drug house next door to me that was active for a few years. Someone referred me to The Fuzz, and he responded to my PM with an offer to help. They have since been evicted by L & I. I gotta tell you, if your help was available at that time, I would have sent you PM's with a list of info as long as your arm. The same list we gave the hotline & roll call looooong before the problem was solved. Kudos to you L & O.
Your efforts are appreciated here.

Isn't it ironic. This thread is Bitch and Moan central when it comes to how the Northeast is changing for the worse. So someone in a position to actually do something about your constant complaints comes on offering assistance and what does he get? What do you people want?

Look most of you spend much of your time monitoring what your neighbors are doing anyway judging by how much of that stuff is posted here in this thread. Put it to good use. Who knows it may cut down on you people boring the bejesus out of the rest of us.
