Clearly, The Fuzz has built a rapport with people, they look to him for advice and information, and welcome his posts. But it took time, and he did post anonymously at first. And I don't blame him. People are jerks.

Also, we have LBomb369 and O.H.Lee, other members of PPD that post and make contributions to the board regularly. There are others, but they keep their identities more obscure. Regardless, they have a way of writing that an experienced person can, um, detect.

And where is Rain7128?

Law and Order can you just please explain what you are trying to accomplish by not using the hotline? Law and Order are you going to investigate these on your own time or the city's?
how this method is "better" is that youd be contacting me, personally- rather some officer whos job it is to answer a phone, take some notes and MAYBE pass the info to someone else. that person will pass it on to someone else, and someone else- until its forgotten about, lost or stale.

if you would prefer to call the hotline, i encourage it- thats why its in place.

what im 'trying to accomplish' is obtaining useful, meaty information that could aid a criminal investigation that would otherwise be 'dead' (no leads, id's or witnesses). if i get the information personally, one of two things would happen (after its verified)- itll be passed on to the appropriate assigned detective or ill investigate it myself. no third party, no 'whisper down the lane' and no b.s.

the info would be investigated on my work-time. however, coming in early, staying late or conversing with people outside of my tour is normal.

L&O-

Stop wasting your time defending yourself. Some people will contact you; others won't. Leave it at that. And of course there is precedence for this on PB as a previous poster mentioned.

I for one welcome your participation here.

Personally, I applaud this kind of thing. It's really "above & beyond" for an officer to do. It's the kind of thing that can turn things around for a whole neighborhood if done effectively.

I work in University City. "TheFuzz" keeps people in the community informed about trouble areas, ongoing investigations, etc.

I live in South Philly. I wish there were some cops in my neighborhood doing this.

Officers having a dialogue with the community, people letting officers know about shady goings-on - this city needs more of this stuff.

YEAH!, out the motherf**ckers and lock 'em the hell up!

I think a forum on crime tips in the NE is great. After all, this IS a BLOG for trading information, duh...
Ok, here's something you all could give me feedback on...
It's old stale news now, but maybe someone here could enlighten me.. for the "next" time it might happen...

I was out tending to my yard one afternoon, and I saw a neighbor's kid, around 14, come up the street from his house..
He walked up to a waiting car on the corner, 8 homes from his house, and talked with a young girl sitting in the car alone..She looked about 18..
He traded "something" to her and she handed him "something" back... then he skipped back to his house, and she took off.
NOW, here's the thing.. IF he went to meet this girl for a "decent respectable" reason, why did she have to park down the block, and he had to meet her on the corner?.. And what was that "trade" about? I highly doubt he purchased the latest Madonna CD from her
Should I keep an EYE open about this kid?.. What does a "good Neighbor" do?.. snitch?

there arent too many drug delivery services who employ females as the couriers. COULD it have been a pharmaceutical transaction? sure! but only YOU would know since YOU saw it.

if you see recurring similar instances, gather some information and PM me. ill be sure to disseminate it to the street cops-- most likely local narcotics guys.

but- to make it work, i would need specifics--- times, descriptions, cars descriptions, tag numbers, addresses..... anything you can provide, itll go to the appropriate people.

If the boy was buying a Madonna CD, Miss/(Mr?) Mayfair...

ugh, then that's not his girlfriend, cuz he don't got a girlfriend.

Guy rushing out to buy a Madonna album on debut == gayer than Sandy Duncan at a discount carpet sale.
