Im worried about this one.
There is a Target with a Starbucks in it on Castor Ave in Port Richmond. I think it's a sure thing that this one will get built.

I don't get the excitement people have with Starbucks. The Starbucks going in will probably just be a counter in the Target, like the one on Castor Ave. I don't think it is going to have a coffee shop atmosphere. Does anyone remember when there was a Starbucks counter in the Acme at Harbison and the Bvld?

I really hate shopping, but the Port Richmond Target is a store I actually like shopping at.

If they don't like people, further up the NE won't help too much. Philmont Hts is a renters paradise with every kind of riff-raff imaginable. Plenty of slum-lords with their trashy, weather-beaten duplexes for rent. Also, try getting around the Bustleton/Byberry area. Traffic nightmares.
I won't miss them, really. They have two kids with "issues" and the very loud fights often run well into the night...making it hard for my son (whose bedroom shares a wall with their house) to get any sleep.

They're looking at the Krewstown Rd area...and they're ALREADY complaining, that now they'll have a "big mortgage"! Considering they got this house for a dollar from his family (one of those deals), they are in for a sticker shock!

I just hope they don't stick us with a neighbor worse than they've been.

Most garage sales are more upscale then Wal Mart and K Mart.

Yes, the Starbucks was right next to the check out line, and was always empty. I went in there a couple of times, and they had to call someone to come over and make something. I knew it wouldn't last long.

i sincerely hope that joann's finds a new place. i'm sad to see them go :/
I think Joanns will do well wherever they go. I mean, there's not too many fabric/sewing stores around, it's not like they have a lot of competition.

I'm looking forward to seeing a Target/Starbucks there.

Default Bustleton Avenue is going to be a zoo

Bustleton Ave is already one of the most heavily traveled streets in Philly especially from Bustleton and WELSH all the way down past GW high school into Bucks county. It often takes me over half hour! to get from Bustleton and Knorr to Bustelton and Tomlinson or there abouts near Street Road. / I don't know how the police get to their calls the standstills are so long or why more people don't complain during rush hour and after six pm.I think this will just move more traffic from that direction to Rhawnhurst. This area around Cottman / bustelton to BVD is already heavily congested. So I see a gold mine for doctors after pollution and congestion set in.

Bustleton Avenue, Byberry Road, and Street Road are an absolute mess during rush hour. Another perfect example of what happens when you over-develop an area. The evening rush line forms at Bustleton & Tomlinson...it's so bad that you can literally walk faster to Bustleton and Byberry than it takes you to get there in your car. Then once you get to Bustleton and Philmont, forget about making that right to cut through Philmont because the line of cars all waiting to make that right onto Street Road will make you dizzy. It's a horrible traffic pattern through Somerton!

Just imagine how much better it would be for Byberry Rd./Street Rd if they ever extend the Woodhaven Expressway out to Montco.

Two questions about this old thread...

1) What is the current status of this project?

2) What happened to the bagel place? They were there for all eternity. Did this project close them or had they been closed a while?
