I checked the definition of "emeritus". It means someone who is permitted by the organization to retain and use the title of his or her last position within that organization. It's an honor given in recognition of good, honest work done.

I'm thinking this guy doesen't fit that definition.

There have been a few changes to Phillyblog and I would assume some of that had to do with the type of posting that seemed controversial or arguementative. Unless you are registered the threads cannot be viewed and it would appear that most of the more acerbic postings are being discouraged.
I would assume by this that it is being encouraged for the blog to be more informational and neutral.
It has become a bit more bland, I would suppose to encourage more positivity. Seems that may lessen readership of the blog to those that are not registered, but would also disuade arguement or "passionate" discussion. So, that noted, posters are now to play nice.

Yo Joe, how goes your assault on the unlicensed daycare at 934 Foulkrod St. They were ordered to appear in front of L&I's code enforcement unit this past Tuesday(November 27th) if I recall correctly. How'd that go? And what's next?

I would bet they do not like him using that title either.

Default NCA Prez Emeritus-

Are you aware that the new NCA president has declared that the Greenwood Cemetary in in deplorable conditions and that the historical Ben Rush house and surrounding is in poor shape and need to be torn down or restored because it has become a haven for unsavory individuals.

This was declared at the last NCA meeting on 1/15. Anyone have a response?

Restoration would be preferable to demolition.

"Joe,
Thank you for update. Is there someone in FoG that would like to meet
with Howell and Councilman Darrell Clarke to voice FoG concerns and our
desire to cleanup the place and save the Rush House? So far I've not
heard from anyone about taking active roles in preserving the house and
cemetery, other than web site and look ups, etc. As I said before, I
can't do it alone, especially since I've had shoulder surgery and can't
drive for several weeks. I'm now typing with one hand. Has anyone been
able to drive around the cemetery and check on things? Hancocks did do a
burial without informing FoG but I will be handling that. I'm again
asking for anyone with interest to be a participating director to send in
their nomination. We need to fill empty spots.
Joanne,
Friends of Greenwood Director"

Anyone out there want to be an activist, rather than an anonymous critic in cyber-space?

Don't talk sh!t. Go do something!

The new NCA President has an open invitation.

Napoleon said none of the above. Tell me, what did Napoleon actually say about history?
