When i bought my house i was informed that behind my garage i have land (15 x 40) that is (owned) shared between 4 houses. I would like to plant a tree there so in 5 years from now it would block out all of my neighbors in the back giving me and everybody else more privacy. Does anybody know the law do i have to get permission from the 3 other owners to plant a tree? I figure it is going to be a nightmare tracking down the actual owners of these houses becuse i belive they are all being rented out.

Anybody have any advice on where i should start - i would also like to get one of those trees that the city gives you for free if possible but would buy one if not.

ASk the tenants, if they have the owner info if you cant find them...just plant the tree.
