I was driving up devereaux between frankford ave and the blvd. Couldn't believe my eyes,there were at least 20 for sale signs on Devereaux and many more on the side streets.When will people learn that you can't run from a problem.

Was it the same REATOR(tm) on all of them?

If it was, I don't think it's exactly white flight... could be different circumstances behind that.

Oh don't get your shorts tied up in a knot. For Sale signs are sprouting like mushrooms all over the place in the city and in the burbs. Houses are taking longer to sell hence signs are staying up longer and new ones are added. Its all part of the housing bubble fizzle. Once folks realize that the party is over and they have to drop their asking price the houses will move. There is more to come, this correction will take years to play out so expect to see more for sale signs in the future. Further in parts of the Northeast you have a aging population that is passing on or moving to assisted living or nursing homes therefore lot of homes are up for sale.

I have friends who live in a development with about 100 homes in the burbs. At any given time, there are 20 to 30 houses up for sale. The neighborhood I am talking about is upper middle class with a good mix of races. People move.
But hey, if you want to think it's a big conspiracy, go right ahead. I just wonder if you think the minorities moving out of traditional minority neighborhoods to move to the northeast is considered ____(fill in the ethnic or racial blank) flight as well?????

I remember Malloy writing about a certain realtor in Overbrook who was scaring the white residents "*those* people are coming!" in order to accelerate white flight in that section... just to make some bucks.
