Driving into work this morning, I saw that a tree was stolen out of the median on Tyson Ave near Whitaker Ave. There are some pretty hibiscus trees there. Now there is a hole with a note "Stolen tree".

First, I know the ones you write of, and I am so sad.

Second, this isn't the work of kids just being azzhat vandals, but someone who knows what they're doing and STEALING. For that, I hope that the fleas of a thousand camels infests their armpits! They deserve no less.

You are right HG. These people don't steal the rinky dink lawn ornaments. They know the good stuff. Two of the things we had stolen were expensive. Meanwhile the lawn connected to us and the one on the other side all their things were left. Lady across the street's went away too. Expensive.

Fleas in the ol' armpit trick, eh? You been cracking me up with some of your posts.

Sad indeed all this thieving.

I have a hunch that your tree was not stolen and the previous owner did not have any 'sentimental value' in the tree they "took". What happened is that one of your neighbors does not want a tree that close to their house because they either don't want to deal with the leaves on their property or clogging their gutter and/or they don't want their view obstructed. When the previous owners left, your neighbor probably asked them to take the tree down. It makes sense to me, my neighbor had 10 miniature trees growing out of her garden as a result of not doing any gardening. I cut them down to nothing once they got about 4 feet high. Why don't you try planting the tree along the curb where they belong? no one wants a tree that close to their house!

Longshore, Sorry about your neighbors minatures becoming too large for the garden. Travis first of all just moved into the neighborhood. Is this how we greet new neighbors. "Try planting a tree along the curb where they belong"? How many people in Mayfair have some sort of tree on their lawns. He didn't tell us exactly what kind of tree it was either.

How do you know that neighbor that left didn't have any sentiment with their tree? Were you there at settlement? I'm not saying you don't have a point, but how about you say "NO TREES PERIOD" because a tree down by the curb may eventually grow to ruin my plumbing like in what happened to my neighbor.

I'm saying cut this man some slack. Nothing like getting something thieved and then insinuate he was wrong for putting that tree there. If this was true and somebody did that well sad for all of us to have neighbors like that.

Damn, ease up buddy! I only planted the tree in order to fill the hole I have in my lawn. It was an ornamental tree that wasn't supposed to ever grow more than 6' tall.

In any event, it's my lawn and I'll plant a tree there if I want to. Nobody has a right to enter my property and steal from me, no matter the circumstances.

I'm no tree hugger or anything like that, but I'm learning real quick that there seems to be an anti-tree movement or something 'round these parts.

Smile Tree Bandits!!

This made me laugh! (Sorry about that, its just funny..) You know someone just walked into the neighbors yard accross the street and snipped a few of her big roses- in the middle of the afternoon! She yelled out her window to get out or she'll call a cop. Boy did that chace the idiot away... he complimented her on her flowers and kept walking down the sidewalk.
Seeing someone carying some flowers is one thing, but if I ever see a guy carying a tree...

Travis,

Got some 411. Not on your tree, but on some plant nappers.

Not sure what hundred you are on, but pretty sure your tree wasn't alone.

Mind ya I don't know who the nappers are but that indeed somebody did a job on one whole block. Don't think it was personal. Supposedly people not from here did it. Heresay though.
