Red face Joan Krajewski is running again...

I heard that Joan will be running for council again, given her senority it's good for our area, but I would like to start a list of things that we need assurances that will be done .... Start the thread

1. More Police
2. Limit of rental housing
3. Cleaner Streets
4. Lower Wage Tax
5. Growth plan for small business
6. Stronger L&I
7. River Front Development
8. Lower Car Insurance

There are some of things on the top of my list. What is more important to you all?

I thought she had entered the DROP program and was therefore unable to run again. Oh well, I was kinda looking forward to an open race, so we could hear some new ideas.

The biggest issue in Mayfair are all of all the new rental properties and absentee landlords that are popping up all over the place. Many of the rental properties are illegal and a lot of these properties landlords don't have licenses. I think the Councilwoman said that she will make this one of her top priorities in her next term.

I picked economic growth because it would go a long way toward solving all of the above named problems. In the short run however, let's get a handle on the whole rental property fiasco.

I think putting more limits on rental properties would be a good place to start because it may curtail the trashing of these properties and neighborhoods and encourage homeownership. It would also mean that with new homeownership people will want to shop near home and could encourage new business (economic growth). Thereby maybe not needing so many police to keep the out of control non-owners/tenants from wrecking the neighborhood.
Keep going with the development of Frankford Ave. Shopping district in Mayfair. And, the Devon, entertainment near one's home is a great idea.

She's going to make it a top priority in her next term? What about now, in her current term? This fiasco happened on her watch. Now we gotta wait another year for her to make it a top priority??
The damage is done, IMO.

Default That's why I got involved

Cyainthehood, I can totally relate and I wish people would hold thier elected officials responsible, I mean how did John Street get in office? How much has our neighborhood declined since then? Do you think it was a accident? People are too complacement, and keep electing the same people in over and over and over, why just because they are a democrat?? That is insane, and it's really ashame.

Joan will run in the Primary Election only watch. Joan will take the drop program after the Primary Election. After the Primary Election Joan will drop out of the race. This gives her the power to put in anyone SHE wants on the ballot in the General Election not the Democrat City Committee this also does not give the voters the choice they want. Thus holding on to power without holding the office.

Default If that is true

Let's hope she has better ideas than what the people would have voted in. The people I heard that had interest on the D side, scary me and I hate to have to move.
