The thing that bugs me is the renters who don't even bag their trash. They just pour it into a big trash can and put it at the curb. Then the wind comes and blows it onto my lawn. When CLIP tickets them, do the landlords who live in New York ever pay up? What happens then?
Also, is it true that if there are more then 6 apartments in a property, that they are supposed to have a private hauler take the trash? I know of a few properties in Tacony where there are more then 6 apartments and they put their trash (in those cheap white bags) right at the curb. And while we are on the subject of trash, I am very bothered by the youth who play basketball at a local park and even though there is a trash can at the court, they just throw their trash on the ground. The trash can is emptied regularly so there is no real excuse. Lastly, isn't there a law that states all food facilities are required to have a trash can in front of their location. I must pick up 10 Chinese food cartons a week that blow up onto my lawn from the restaurant a block away. Okay...I've ranted enough. I feel better knowing that there are others in the Northeast who have noticed the trash issue becoming more and more of a problem. |

One of the neighbors got a petition from the city and got the homeowners who wanted the trash picked up out back to sign it. I don't know what percentage of houses it takes to get this done.

Several of the older neighbors who live out back told me "NO WAY". I learned at one time my block and theirs did the common alley trash thingie. The older people complained that it was WAY WORSE as people were even filthier figuring nobody sees it. I have great respect for the older people that have lived here since the 50's so I didn't pursue it. Oh, and the people on the end houses said others took that as a sign to just drag their crap to the end of the drive?????? |

That's because you were raised right.
**I have to take back where I said it was all the new people moved in who started that yucky practice. My one neighbor didn't come from here and she is diligent about taking her cans around back** Otherwise, it is alot of new people pull that. I don't care if they rent or not. Tough. Move the cans. You get a nice place to live and ya just muck it up? Nothing right about that. |

I promise to put my cans out back. All of them. However when that neighbor tells me to keep it down with the noise (again) when I roll them around can I call one of you to fight back? I'm not tough and I'm ok with it.
***can I have a dispensation when I'm on crutches from knee surgery? just have the recycle and one can out front b/c I won't be able to walk?*** ![]()

Oh no we don't give dispensations, sorry. You'll toughen up and do all in your power with those crutches to get them cans out back. BTW, if you are really having knee surgery I wish you well. If you are stuck, and don't know neighbors just PM me. I mean if you need something from the store or heck even someone to wheel those cans around. That's not a fun recoup. WELCOME STB. We're not really tough. I'm not anyway. |

words on a screen don't scare me - large hairy mean guys who think *I* make too much noise with trash cans do though.
Ok got it, when they decide to schedule it - I'll just make sure I don't create any trash. That'll solve the problem.
