What happened to the guy named Cy Dell who was running for mayor? Who is he, and why is not he running any more? What was he doing before he ran? Where is he now?

Cy Dell was a pitcher for the Philadephia A's, who stayed on in Philadelphia after retiring from baseball. He died on Friday of bradyitius and his campaign died with him. His family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Philadelphia A's museum in Willow Grove.
